Venice Carnival 2012 – La vita è teatro. Tutti in maschera!

I just came back from a trip to Venice…. and I absofuckinglutely loved it! What a beautiful and romantic city, even though the city was so crowded due to the Carnival. Who could not love this city (well, actually it is 120 islands)?!

During the days we spent our time wandering the city, people-watching, shopping (I found some great leather gloves there – great quality for a small price). At night the carnival crowd was still celebrating in the streets, but me and my friend decided to check out bars in Venice.

My personal recommendation: Skyline Bar in the Hilton Molino Stucky Hotel

Hilton Molino Stucky Rooftop Pool Hilton Molino Stucky Rooftop bar "Skyline"

From San Marco Harbor the Hilton shuttle boat takes you in 15 min to the hotel – for free. What you can expect is the best view on Venice from the rooftop bar, very friendly bar personal and delicious cocktails using fresh and seasonal fruits only. I had a Japanese Garden (lychee liquor, fresh raspberry juice and vodka)…just great. On Saturday nights there is a DJ and some party going on. So all in ala definite must for Venice! And from May-September you can enjoy this view from the pool on the rooftop….WOW!

After that, me and my friend wanted to go to another bar (either the bar in the Metropolitan Hotel or the one in The Bauers), but bars there close early (latest 2 a.m.) and fairies don´t go at night, so my weekend was quite calm and I only got to see this one bar. We spent the rest of the time eating Pasta, Pizza and drinking Prosecco Aperol (for incredibly low prices. Venice is nothing compared to Milan, Paris etc…another plus!).

So here are some impressions from Venice 🙂
